Aggelos Gkiokas

Aggelos Gkiokas graduated from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering – N.T.U.A (field of Electronics and Systems) in 2006. Since 2008 he is a PhD Student at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering – N.T.U.A in the research field of Musical Signal Processing, High Level Musical Feature Extraction and Music Description. He also holds a postgraduate degree of “Applied Mathematical Sciences” at the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Science – N.T.U.A. (field of Analysis).

He has been working at the Institute for Language and Speech Processing / R.C. “Athena” since 2001. In the past, he worked at Natural Language and Knowledge Extraction Department and at the Quality Control Office. Since 2007 he has been working at Voice and Sound Technology Department. He has participated in a number of R&D projects, services and products.

His research interests are mainly focused on Music Information Retrieval, and especially on rhythm analysis and music similarity.
